Terms of Service

Last updated: August 26, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Ras mobile app and related services ("Ras", the "Service"), operated from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. By creating an account or using Ras, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy and Community Guidelines. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

1. Who can use Ras

You must be at least 16 years old to use Ras. Some events listed on Ras (nightlife, venues serving alcohol) carry their own age restrictions — those are set and enforced by the venue or host, and you are responsible for meeting them. By using Ras you confirm the information you provide is accurate and that you're not barred from using the Service under applicable law.

2. Your account

You sign in with Apple or Google. You're responsible for activity on your account and for keeping access to your sign-in method secure. You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Delete account; deletion is permanent.

3. Events and tickets

Discovering events

Ras aggregates events from hosts and public sources. We work to keep listings accurate, but details (dates, times, venues, prices, lineups) are provided by hosts and organizers and can change or be cancelled without notice. Always confirm critical details with the organizer.

In-app RSVPs and QR tickets

Some events use Ras's built-in registration: you RSVP in the app and receive a QR code the host scans at the door. The QR code is your proof of registration — it is issued by the host, and admission remains the host's decision (for example if the event reaches capacity or you don't meet its entry requirements).

External tickets

Other events link out to third-party ticket sellers. Those purchases happen on the seller's site under the seller's terms — Ras is not the merchant, does not process the payment, and is not responsible for the transaction, refunds, or the event itself.

Attending events

Events happen in the real world, run by hosts and venues that are independent from Ras. We do not organize, control, or supervise the events listed on the Service. You attend at your own judgment, and any claims arising from an event (safety, admission, quality, cancellation, refunds) are between you and the host or venue.

4. Hosting events

If you publish an event on Ras, you confirm that:

We may remove or decline to list any event that violates these Terms, our Community Guidelines, or the law.

5. Your content

You keep ownership of the content you post on Ras — event listings, posters, photos, profile information, and messages ("Content"). By posting Content you grant Ras a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and distribute it for the purpose of operating and promoting the Service (for example, showing your event on the map and in feeds, or in a shared event link). This license ends when you delete the Content or your account, except where content has been shared with others (e.g. an event people registered for) or we're required to retain it by law.

You are responsible for your Content. Don't post anything that infringes others' rights, is unlawful, or violates our Community Guidelines.

6. Community rules and moderation

Ras has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behavior. You can report any content or user and block users from within the app. We review reports and may remove content, restrict features, or terminate accounts at our discretion — see the Community Guidelines for what's not allowed.

7. What you may not do

8. The Service is provided "as is"

We work hard to keep Ras available and accurate, but the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that listings are accurate, that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any event will take place as described.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ras and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from: events listed on the Service (including cancellation, injury, or admission refusal), third-party ticket purchases, other users' content or conduct, or your inability to use the Service. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us to use the Service in the past 12 months (currently: nothing — Ras is free).

10. Termination

You can stop using Ras and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, our Community Guidelines, or the law, or if we discontinue the Service. Sections that by their nature should survive (content licenses for shared content, disclaimers, limitation of liability) survive termination.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. If changes are material, we'll notify you in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use Ras after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, unless mandatory law in your country of residence provides otherwise.
